The replacement of original period windows in an Edwardian house
Lisa lives in East Finchley in an Edwardian style property.
The Project
Lisa’s beautiful Edwardian property still retained the original period windows. They were beautiful but had become quite run down and were generally quite draughty and cold. With a growing young family Lisa wanted replacement windows that were practical, secure and warm but also very much in keeping with the age and style of the property.
When considering new replacement windows it was vitally important to Lisa that the look replicated the traditional style and character of the originals. Tommy, our consultant suggested the Bygone Symphony sash windows and Flush casement windows as these products were designed to replicate her windows almost exactly.

Lisa was delighted with the product and design whilst also being impressed with the functionality of the locking systems, particularly the limit stops on the sash windows which allowed her to have a secure open option – perfect for night-times. Lisa was impressed with the advice given by Tommy and confident with her decision to install these beautiful products.
When asked “what made Barnet Window Company stand out compared to other companies who had quoted?”, Lisa was quick to reply that “although the cost is not less, it shows in the product as the quality of the windows were way beyond anything else that I have been shown by other companies. Other products looked plastic, not as authentic. The Georgian bars were on a different level”.
Lisa liked the way Tommy was not prepared to barter on the price unlike other companies who moved around from price to price. This placed great faith in both the product and Barnet Window Company as a family run business. Lisa was also extremely impressed with the way Tommy listened to her requirements and was then on hand to answer any questions that arose.
The office team were helpful throughout the installation and the fitting team were reliable and courteous. Lisa commented “overall the customer service was second to none”.
