There are a few things to think about here when considering the potential longevity of your new windows. One, of course, is the frame material. UPVC and Aluminium require very little maintenance, but nothing lasts forever, and a certain amount of TLC will be required to keep them looking as good as new for as long as possible.
If your windows are timber, then that depends on a raft of factors, including the quality of timber used, the standard of initial decoration and redecoration, and how exposed the windows are to the weather. It’s also always important to factor in the quality of the other parts that make up a window.
The sealed glass units, hinges, locks, and handles will be required to be good quality if you want your window to be looking good and working well, 20 or 30 years plus into the future. And don’t forget the quality of installation, which should also be considered.
